These before and after photos are from a basement at a home in Guilford, CT. In the before photo the basement is not fitted with a drainage system so the basement was at risk for potential flooding. In the after picture you can see from the wet cement that our crew very neatly installed the WaterGuard drainage system to prevent flooding in the future.
This Guilford, CT basement had an old, exposed sump pump system that was in danger of clogging which would result in a flooded basement. We installed a new TripleSafe Sump Pump System to replace it which includes an airtight lid, primary pump, secondary pump, and battery backup sump pump.
When we arrived in this basement, it was wet and humid. Without an adequate sump pump system, the water that leaked into the space often sat in the basement for a long time. To remedy this, we installed the SuperSump system. The SuperSump includes a powerful Zoeller ⅓ horsepower cast-iron sump pump, capable of pumping 2,500 gallons of water per hour out of the basement. It also includes an airtight lid and a WaterWatch alarm, which sounds off when water has risen past the point where the pumps should have turned on, to let the homeowners know if there is a plumbing failure or other water problem. With the SuperSump installed, this home wil remain dry for years to come!
A homeowner in Guilford concluded that they needed to waterproof their basement and reached out to Connecticut Basement Systems to get the job done. Sales Consultant Joshua Kroop confirmed their suspicions and strongly recommended getting a WaterGuard, Feed Line, SuperSump Plus, and Iceguard. These were later installed by a crew led by Foreman Marcio Bahiense in a timely manner and now their basement is completely waterproofed. The homeowner is thrilled with the result!
This before and after is a great example of how important a proper escape for water is for any home. The Guilford homeowner had a WaterGuard System and SuperSump Pump installed and the after photo shows the final step in completing the installation. The WaterGuard channels water that would have entered the home into the SuperSump Pump. The sump pump then directs the water outside the home by leading it through a discharge line, through an Ice Guard (the white item you see attached to the house in the photos) and then through the LawnScape. A LawnScape (the green item in the after photo) is the last product that comes in contact with the water and distributes the water into the ground. Without this item, the water would not have a proper escape route. The gravel, as seen in the after photo, allows the water to filter through instead of immediately seeping into the ground. The transformation of the area is incredible!
