This Stamford, CT home had a basement that was suffering from serious water damage. Water had been leaking in at the seam where this basement wall meets the floor, and was causing the base of the wall to rot away. This leak was turning the basement into an eyesore, and made it susceptible to mold growth. Seeking a solution for his problem, the homeowner did some online research and decided to schedule an appointment with the experts at Connecticut Basement Systems.
Soon after, sales representative Gary Meglino traveled to the home and met with the homeowner. Gary entered the basement and made an efficient assessment of the problem, then shared his findings with the homeowner. Together, they found the solution that would work best for him and his home. In the end, they agreed that the best option was to correct the problem using WaterGuard and CleanSpace.
WaterGuard is a patented below-floor drain that is installed along the inside perimeter of the basement walls. As water leaks into the basement, WaterGuard catches it and directs it to a sump pump, which then pumps the water up and out of the basement. Foreman Marcial Lopez and his crew are well-experienced at installing products like WaterGuard, so when they arrived to begin production, they worked carefully and efficiently to rid the home of all basement leaks. Once WaterGuard was installed, the crew finished up by installing CleanSpace along the base of the basement walls where they had worked. CleanSpace is ideal for jobs like this because it acts as a vapor barrier, preventing water vapor and humidity from passing into the basement. This limits basement moisture and helps to prevent mold growth.
When the team had finished, the homeowner was thrilled with the results. The unightly damage to his wall was gone, and so was the leak that caused it. The homeowner thanked the crew for their work and took comfort in knowing that his basement water issue had been solved.
Before, these basement walls let moisture seep through into the basement, causing damage to the floor and walls. More than just a nuisance, the water damage created a moist environment suitable for mold growth, which can threaten both the value of the home and the health of its owners. Knowing they had to act quickly, these homeowners reached out to Connecticut Basement Systems for a lasting solution.
Once we arrived, we waterproofed the basement by installing our patented WaterGuard System, which runs along the perimeter of the basement and directs any leaking water into a sump pump. After this, Foreman Chavon Bowman replaced the damaged portions of drywall with more durable EverLast Wall Panels, which are made from inorganic materials, will not be damaged by water and can even withstand flooding. Complete with a decorative molding, these new wall panels help to give the home an improved look while also eliminating any potential for mold growth. As a result, these homeowners were quite pleased with this improved, dry basement.
This homeowner was struggling with water in their basement and they decided it was time to call us at Connecticut Basement Systems to solve their problems. After scheduling an appointment, one of our Sales Consultants, Jimmy Stablien, went out to the home to assess the issues and provide the correct solution.
The next step would be for one of our Foremen, Krzys Wilk, and his crew to work on the installation of this project. They installed a TripleSafe sump pump along with WaterGuard perimeter drain in order to collect and pump out the water from the home at a safe distance. Without these systems, the basement would still get water and not be protected. But now any water coming in will always have a way out of the home and this basement will stay dry.
A homeowner in Stamford was getting water seepage in their below-grade garage and basement during heavy rains so they called us at Connecticut Basement Systems to find a solution. One of our Sales Consultants, Tony Van Deusen, went out to the home to assess the issues and provide a proposal for work they would need to have done.
One of our Foremen, Marcio Bahiense, and his crew would install this job. This home has a monolithic foundation, meaning they need our two-stage waterproofing system that includes our DryTrak which will collect the water and drain it into our sump pump. The crew installed our TripleSafe sump pump that would take the collected water and pump it out of the home at a safe distance. With these systems, the below-grade garage will stay dry!
This Stamford home had windows that were clearly insufficient. The windows could not let in any light because of the overgrown grass. Not only did the basement lack natural light, but it also let in a lot of moisture and air that made the area uncomfortable. The homeowner wanted a solution so he decided to call Connecticut Basement System.
The solution for this basement was to install EverLast windows paired with a SunHouse window well. The EverLast window has a durable vinyl frame that will not rust, rot, corrode, or need to be repainted. These windows will also prevent heat loss with its Low-E double-paned glass panes. Basement windows are usually located below ground just like this Stamford one. Dirt, debris, water, pests and even plants that take root in the well’s dirt floor would block the beautiful new EverLast window. A SunHouse window well was installed to prevent any disturbances and will also let in lots of sunlight into the basement with the well’s light color and curved form.
The difference is incredible and the homeowner was very happy with the results. Now, his basement is more comfortable and the area is brighter and more inviting!
