Water used to flood this basement through the hatchway door, especially during heavy rainstorms. To prevent this, we installed the TrenchDrain grated drainage system. It is uniquely designed to span doorways, hatchway entrances, and similar entryway doors. Any water passing over the drain is collected through the openings and redirected to the sump pump. The homeowners don't have to worry about basement flooding anymore!

In this basement, water was backing up due to the old sump pump failing and not being able to handle the water coming in from the snow. The discharge line was held up by peices of string, and was too small. We were called and installed our Triplesafe sump pump. Now the homeowner doesn't have to worry about water backing up. If there is too much water for the first pump to handle then the second pump works at the same time from another discharge line. In addition what is great about the Triplesafe sump pump, is in the bad luck of a power outtage a battery pack and third pump take over, and can pump up to 12,000 gallons. This West Haven crawl space flooded with 2 feet of water and the homeowners needed a solution to repair and prevent this damage from reoccurring. They quickly gave Connecticut Basement Systems a call to solve the problem.

Our System Design Specialist, Brad Glazer, quickly came to evaluate the situation. He concluded that the crawl space would need SmartJacks, a TripleSafe Sump Pump, a CleanSpace Liner and a Sanidry to repair the damage. With a plan set, Garfield Sanderson and his production team came to the home to start the project.

Smart Jacks were installed to the crawl space to stabilize sagging beams and provide a secure environment, supporting loads of more than 60,000 pounds. Then, a TripleSafe Sump Pump was installed to keep the basement dry with the protection of its 3-pump system. CleanSpace Liner was placed in the crawlspace, which is the durable white material seen in the after photo. The CleanSpace Liner prevents water vapor and humidity from passing through the walls and floors. Lastly, the Sanidry was installed to control humidity and prevent basement mold and mildew. The combination of all of these basement waterproofing products will ensure a pleasant dry crawl space.

Before, this West Haven basement would get unwanted water seeping through the area. This greatly frustrated the homeowner because he used his basement as a place to relax and enjoy. He wanted to waterproof the area so this would not become a problem anymore. After doing much research, he decided to trust the experts at Connecticut Basement Systems.

To ensure that water would not enter the basement anymore, a WaterGuard system was installed paired with a TripleSafe sump pump system. The WaterGuard is a below the floor system that collects water internally and channeling it to the TripleSafe sump pump. From the TripleSafe, the water is discharged away from the home. A SaniDry Sedona was also installed to keep humidity low which will increase the quality of air. There was water damage on the walls that was attracting mold and was not appealing. To solve this problem, we installed a half wall restoration system to the walls, essentially removing the bottom water damaged wall and replacing with our EverLast paneling which will prevent mold. ThermalDry Charcoal Carpet was also installed to give the basement a finished look. The homeowner is now extremely satisfied with his dry and healthier basement!
