The solution to this wet basement was to install a WaterGuard system. This system is installed below the floor and is sealed up with cement. (as you can see in the after the photo) The WaterGuard system collects the water internally and channels it to the sump pump. The water is exited through a discharge line outside the basement. CleanSpace Liner was also installed on the walls of the basement to prevent moisture from entering the basement. With little moisture in the basement, the musty odor will be reduced.

The CleanSpace liner prevents all moisture from seeping through the floors, and also turns dirt floors into a tidy, usable area. SilverGlo keeps the area insulated, lining the walls with a reflective barrier. To make sure that no air sneaks above the crawl space walls and into the home, rim joist insulation was installed as well. The homeowner was thrilled with the results, and quickly noticed an improvement in the comfort and energy efficiency of his home.
