One of our Foremen, Sergio Alves, and Jacob Scott worked on this project. They would install 5 push piers below the footing of the foundation in order to make the home stable. In order to do this, they had to jackhammer into the basement and dig in order to place the footing for the pier. Then they used the piers to lift and stabilize the foundation. They also used PolyLevel and injected it into the floor to ensure that the basement was stable and level. The cracks in the foundation were also repaired and sealed. This homeowner is relieved seeing that the house is stable and the floor in the basement is level!

This homeowner previously had another company install a waterproofing system that didn’t work as hoped. During a storm, she had lost power and the basement had flooded completely. Before there was a single sump with a generic liner that had a lid with a slot cut in it. To fix that we installed our TripleSafe sump pump system which is engineered with three levels of protection. The first level starts with the most reliable cast iron AC sump pump. This Waterbury basement had a maintenance for their TripleSafe safe pump that was a year past due. It is important to have your sump pump maintenance every year! The homeowner decided to schedule a maintenance this year and we were happy to come out.

On the day of the maintenance, Service Technician Justin Jaffer arrived at the home. After talking to the homeowner, he went to go inspect the sump pump. The first concern he noticed was that there was no power to the system and realized quickly that a breaker was tripped. Upon more evaluation, Justin realized that the primary pump was destroyed due to the iron build up that happened in the system. Since there was no power to the system, the secondary pump was discharging the water to keep the basement dry. (That is a great benefit of this system!) In addition to all of this, the battery was dead to the system. Justin had to replace the primary pump and the battery and had to scrub the rest of the system to get rid of the iron. After scrubbing and parts replaced, the system was running efficiently and the homeowner was happy.
