Old Sump Pump
This old sump pump was not doing it's job. It was clogging frequently, and often couldn't keep up with the amount of water that poured into the basement when it rained. We replaced it with our TripleSafe sump pump, which has a primary, secondary, and backup battery pump in it to ensure a dry basement even in heavy rainstorms or power outages.
Crawl Space Vents
In older houses, crawl space vents were often installed. They were intended to help dry out the crawl space with air from the outside. However, outside air is often more humid and wet than it is in the house. To remedy this, we installed a vent cover. This keeps outside air away, along with all the moisture, pests, cold winter air, and summer heat it brings with it.
SaniDry Installed
To take humidity out of the air and prevent moisture problems like mold and rot, we installed a SaniDry dehumidifier. The SaniDry can dehumidify and filter your air at the same time. Its ENERGY STAR rating makes it three times more efficient than common hardware store dehumidifiers, while its powerful blower allows it to dehumidify up to 2,500 square feet.
Perimeter Drain
We were able to stop water from seeping through the wall-floor joint in this basement with our WaterGuard perimeter drain. The WaterGuard has the ability to collect water from both the floors and any that may come through the wall, and then redirect it to the sump pump system. Once the cement over the WaterGuard dries, the owners of this home will have a dry basement for years!
