Original Basement Door
Here, you see the basement door before Connecticut Basement Systems arrived. The old wood offers a 'vintage' feeling, but it also allows cold air to easily enter the basement.
Before Insulation
Here, you see the bottom of the homeowners' floor framing system. In any basement, cold air often enters through your rim joist (ie. the perimeter of the floor framing). Without insulation, that air will decrease temperatures throughout your home.
Custom Door
For this project, we designed a custom door to provide an air-tight entrance to the homeowner's basement. Unlike the previous design, our door ensures that warm air remains within the space -- and cold air stays out!
Insulation
The spray foam you see here efficiently insulates the home's rim joist, preventing cold floors throughout the house.
