TripleSafe
One of the products we installed in this home was the patented TripleSafe Sump Pump System. It has three pumps to respond to the three most prevalent problems that home owners experience with waterproofing systems that fail. Every Basement Systems sump pump liner and its matching sump pump cover forms an airtight bond with a clean-looking finish when installed. These airtight lids also help to quiet the sump pump noise.
TrenchDrain
Water can flow down the exterior stairway like this and find its way onto your basement floor. The way to overcome this problem is by spanning the base of the stairway with Trench Drain drainage channel. This innovative drain is installed flush with a concrete floor; you can walk right over it. But the grated top will capture surface water before it can get where it doesn’t belong.
SuperSump
In addition to the TripleSafe sump pump, we also installed the SuperSafe sump pump system in place of the old one. The SuperSump includes the finest pump available - a high-end 1/3 HP cast-iron Zoeller sump pump with a mechanical float switch. It pumps 2220 gallons per hour at a 8-foot discharge head (43gpm) smoothly and quietly. It resists clogging and can pump up to ½-inch solids. It will perform reliably for many years.
WaterGuard
The patented WaterGuard interior basement waterproofing system is designed to sit on top of the footing and out of the soil under your basement floor, so it will never clog! It spans the perimeter of the basement and captures water as it enters the house and redirects it to the sump pump system, so you don't have to worry about moldy walls like this home.
Exterior Discharge Line and IceGuard
The sump pumps push the water out of the basement, through a discharge line, and into the yard. Here is where our team was planning to install a discharge line. However, sometimes during the winter -- especially after a significant snow fall -- the end of the discharge pipe might be covered with snow and ice, and water may freeze inside the discharge pipe, clogging the system. When that happens, the water returns back into the sump pit, and the sump pump will continuously recycle the water without the ability to get rid of it. Eventually, the overwhelmed sump pump may be unable to handle the volume of water and burn out - causing the basement to flood. The IceGuard has a patented design with perforations to keep the water flowing out of the basement, even if the end of the pipe is clogged, thus preventing basement flooding.
