Wall Crack in Hamden, CT
This wall crack was allowing ground water to seep through the basement. Wanting a permanent solution, the homeowners contacted the experts at Connecticut Basement Systems!
Access to the Wall Crack
The wall crack was actually behind this drywall. We had to create an access point and an area to install the WaterGuard System. You can also clearly see where the water was seeping through with the water marks on the wall.
Dry Well is Developed
A dry well is constructed in the ground to help channel water to drain.
Application of Flexible Sealant
Foreman, Justin Vizard, starts the sealing process by applying a flexible sealant along the full length of the crack.
Crack with Sealant
This photo shows what the crack looks like once the sealant is applied.
Polyurethane Foam Strip
The foam strip is useful when water surrounding the crack can drain into the dry well. It acts a channel for the water.
Another Layer of Sealant
The additional sealant gives it the extra protection.
Overlay the Wall Crack with Polyurethane Sealant
Since the color is a light gray, the wall now looks professional and finished.
Re-Concrete the Opening of the Floor
Applying cement to the dry well to properly seal it is essential.
Final Outcome
This is what the crack looks like when the FlexiSpan is completely installed. The greatest benefit includes that it well never dry out or crack due to the natural movement of the foundation walls!
