The basement of this Gales Ferry, CT home had a staircase leading into the basement from the outside. Water often can come in through these stairs, as was happening in this home. To prevent water from entering the basement, we installed a trench drain at the base of the staircase. Its open grate collects water into the perimeter drainage system to keep the basement dry.
