We installed a trench drain to prevent water from spreading throughout the basement if it managed to get in the door. The open grate sits either flush or slightly below the floor and will collect any water that flows over it. The water will then be directed to the perimeter drainage system and directed out of the basement. The homeowners now have a dry basement to enjoy.
