Old Sump Pump hole in Greenwich, CT Basement
This is a typical old sump pump hole found in CT basements with water problems. The hole is wide open. The old piece of wood laid over the top really isn't helping. Dirt and anything else found in a basement could fall right in and possibly clog the pump. By the looks for the situation the pump is probably not working anymore anyway. This basement in Greenwich was definetly in need of attention.
Trench Drain at the bottom of the staircase
This Greenwich basement had a bilco door with stairs coming down. We installed a trench drain at the bottom of the staircase which is connected the the rest of the perimeter drainage system. In the event that water ever comes through the bilco door, it would drain into the trench drain at the bottom of the stairs and be pumped out through the perimeter drainage system.

This is an after installation photo of the perimeter drainage and SuperSump Sump Pump System installed in the low spot of the basement. Gravity will assist in keeping this basement dry.
