Everlast Windows and SunHouse sills Installation in Danbury, CT
Challenge
In a house located in Danbury, Connecticut, there was a homeowner who was displeased with the condition and look of her basement windows. She noticed that these windows were letting in a draft, causing her house to often be colder than she wanted which made her have to pay more money for when she turned up the heat. Along with the draft problem, the windows themselves looked dilapidated with paint coming off the framing and debris collecting in the window sills. Since these were the original windows from when the house was built in 1949, it was clear to the homeowner that it was time to get new windows. She then made a smart decision and researched what companies offered basement windows that will not allow a draft and had a modern appeal to them. After she reached out to Connecticut Basement Systems, our sales representative Douglas Wheeler was able to give her a free inspection and estimate for new windows in this Danbury household. Once everything was agreed upon, it was time for a crew to be assembled in order to install brand-new, top of the line windows.
Solution
Although there are plenty of types of windows to choose from nowadays, our company offers some of the most advanced basement windows in terms of efficiency, design, and overall attractiveness. The windows that were agreed to be installed were EverLast thermal paned windows. Along with the windows, the homeowner also requested to have SunHouse window wells. The combination of these two items being installed together can immediately change the look of a basement.
These windows were chosen because they are designed to have the best insulation possible, which was this homeowner’s number one concern. With low-E properties of the glass and non-metal framing, these windows are three times better than any standard single-paned, metal-framed windows. Since these windows are made without metal, they will not rust and since they are made without wood, they cannot rot. They will also not need to ever be painted, and all these factors will save the homeowner money in the future as window issues, whether it be unwanted drafts or an unattractive appearance, as she will not have to further invest in upgrading her windows. After these windows were fully installed, the look of the basement had already increased a great amount.
Once the windows were installed, it was time for our crew to go outside and implement the SunHouse window wells. These are window wells that are installed on the exterior of the house that exist for the purpose of keeping basement windows clean as well as allowing more natural light into a basement. The wells are made from durable, high-strength plastic that will never rust, deteriorate or require painting. The light color of the well and the curved design are used to direct more sunlight into the basement. Often, plastic coverings are put on these wells in order to keep any debris from getting onto or near the windows. Once these were installed around the exterior of the basement windows, the basement was instantly brighter and was also able to raise the overall temperature of the basement.
With the combination of EverLast windows and SunHouse window well installed in the place of the homeowner’s four original, disheveled windows, it was clear that this basement was now much better off. The Danbury homeowner no longer had to worry about drafts or looking out the windows to see dirt and debris. With professional leadership and assistance in installing these windows, our foreman Chavon Bowman was able to greatly improve the look and feel of this basement. With the help of our crew, this homeowner was left with wonderful windows and a smile on her face from our professional and timely service.
